In 1994, RBA was commissioned by Parks Victoria to rescue and rehabilitate the abandoned kiosk, at the Ferntree Gully National Park (now part of Dandenong Ranges National Park).

The present kiosk was constructed to provide recreational facilities to visitors in 1907, after a fire destroyed the original building. The kiosk, while a contemporary example of Federation style architecture, takes a more rustic design approach featuring less decoration, low hipped roofs (similar to a bungalow), and use of local materials.

RBA was commissioned by Parks Victoria to rescue this dis-used kiosk from a virtually ruinous state. We successfully restored and adapted the building to a viable new use, as an education and resource centre, for visitors including school groups.
